Which Hiking BOOT to Buy?

After years of faithful service my Timberland Hiking Boots have became too uncomfortable to really wear because the heel has become too worn in and has revealed a painful plastic part of the shoe that was originally covered by padding and fabric. Hopefully the same doesn’t happen to this new pair but unfortunately my foot has always sort of worn shoes in the heel 1st because of the way my foot is shaped.
