ASUS Q550LF Laptop – Motherboard Replacement

ASUS is the Laptop I would recommend to most people right after a Lenovo
A frequent client of mine had just upgraded this laptop months before to an SSD and a ram increase. It seems the increase may have eventually killed the motherboard off, causing it to fry only about 6 months after the upgrade was complete. I told her what it would cost for me to buy the replacement board and do the repair, and at that point you are getting closer to a quarter to over half of the cost of a new laptop, depending on what you wished to upgrade to. Since she had gotten enough use out of it having it for many years so far she decided it was time to purchase a new one. As a favor since it died so recent after the upgrade I did, no fault of mine anyway, but I still offered to do the data transfer and setup of her new Laptop for free because I felt bad.
Not long after this repair was complete I was able to flip the Laptop for a nice Cash Bump because it was working beautifully after it’s motherboard replacement. I sold it off to a family friend who’s son is still using it to this day to game and play #Fornite.
