What is PURPE Token?
Unless you have lived under a rock you’ve seen the PEPE frog memes. The Frog was created by Canadian Artist Matt Furie for a comic book. Then in 2023 Pepe coin was launched on the Ethereum blockchain by Zachary Testa. At the time this was considered the standard blockchain to release a coin on. Then came the rise of SOLANA, and with it a whole slew of meme coins and rug pulls often overshadowing most honest Solana tokens.
Same Frog Different Color
In July 2024 a Purple Pepe Frog coin was released on the Solana Blockchain. PURPE takes the same meme frog colors it purple and adds a sky blue hat that says “Make Solana Great Again”. A play on words for the heavily used republican slogan “Make America Great Again”.
Rug Pull?
Doesn’t seem to be much chance of a rug pull or scam token here. Purpe total supply is 420 Billion with a Fully Diluted Valuation of 4.5 million. The top holder only has 3%, the next holder is an exchange. 80% of the tokens are held by small fries. Liquidity is Locked, Freeze Authority and Mint Authority are turned off also. They seem to have a strong community behind it on twitter and telegram. Their website is filled with mostly memes and minimal information but I wasn’t expecting much. The most popular exchange seems to be Raydium, followed by AscendEX (BitMax).
Rocky Start…
The token spent the 1st few days tanking only to put together an impressive run mid to end of JULY. After that it slowly slide down it’s recent low on August 19th. Since then it has enjoyed climb back.
Next Stop Moon?
There are 3 things that keep a new token from slowly zeroing itself. First is use case or functionality. Second is Community or Hype surrounding it. 3rd would be an active and engaged creator or developer. It’s obvious there really isn’t much special use case for PURPE, it doesn’t do anything faster or offer anything new. What it has is even more rare, a vibrant and active community. The developer seems to be active in the community. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad and having an active community holds far more value than most use cases or functionalities. I have seen many seemingly amazing coins fade over the years without a community support.
This is a 100% unbiased article. I didn’t buy any PURPEÂ yet and I am FOMOing a bit on it…
