Found Guilty

Chauvin had a history of being  a bruiser within the department. It wasn’t uncommon for those he arrested people to get dropped off at jail with scrapes and bruises covering their body. He had been complained about many times, yet was only disciplined once.

The police force should have removed him years ago and should be held accountable for not removing him years ago. The history of countless complaints speaks to a pattern of abuse towards people he had arrested. I am unsure if it was racially motivated like people may have stated or just Chauvin and his hatred towards criminals himself. We would have to analyze the interactions to see if there lies a difference when he is apprehending a white suspect or a person of color…

A History of Complaints

According to Buzzfeednews.com he had 17 complaints filed against him during his tenure of 20 years as a police officer.  According to The Mercury News, where he was actually reprimanded once by his superiors’ when he pulled a woman out of her car after he stopped her for going ten miles over the speed limit.
