This would be a highly stressful and dangerous call for an officer to go on. Mistakes are bound to be made from time to time forcing these cops to handle these highly volatile situations on a daily basis.
What is a 13 year old doing with a 20 year old at 2:30 am while carrying a pistol. Unfortunately people living around gangs their whole lives and end up joining them at a very young age. So this wasn’t your typical 13 year old kid. That also doesn’t change the fact that this seems to be another sad mistake from a police officer. I don’t envy any person that has to do a job like that and make a decision in a split second that could take the life of another person.
Member of the Latin Kings?
Update April 2021, there have been reports or leaks saying the kid was actually a member of the Notorious Latin Kings or he was in the process of attempting to join. The area he was from is in fact a stronghold for the gang. Snopes classifies this claim as research in progress. They say “While no verified evidence substantiated the claim, it was possible Toledo associated with members of the Latin Kings gang without his loved ones knowing or acquiring a criminal record.” So I believe they will say they are trying to research it but probably leave the story right there. The Tributes from his friends show the Gang Knick Name of Lil Homicide or Bvby Diablo, yikes…

Fake News Continues
Apparently the News Outlets are trying to Spin this one as he was an unarmed kid who was shot by a blood crazed cop. Apparently according to the Left leaning media sites and their video editors the parts of the video of him running with the gun wont be showed in order to insure the public outrage. It is tragic the cop didn’t see him drop the gun. He spun around quickly the officer didn’t know he dropped the gun behind the fence. I feel he really didn’t wait long enough to see if he dropped it, but that extra time could have cost the officer his life.
Journalist/activist claims that #AdamToledo (aka Lil’ Homicide) was unarmed is untrue. Police responded to the scene because of more than 8 rounds fired at a moving car.
